Amistad. 7’3 with a great tip. Easy to rip traps out of the grass with it.
If you feel that’s too heavy for you, try the 7’2 Swim Jig rod.

For Rayburn I'd go 7'6 to 7'11. Lately I've been using the Shimano slx heavy composite 7'4. I know some guys that throw a trap on a cara crig rod

I know some guys that throw a trap on a cara crig rod In good grass I have a 7'11" heavy swimbait rod that has the right amount of tip to handle fish on a trap and more than a enough back bone to actually rip a trap I have that same 7'4" Shimano in the Curado model and it is a good trap rod

They make a trap caster rod.

I'm old school but the rod I use works like a charm and I've had it for 30+ years. I use an American made All Star Zell Rowland Top Water Special to throw lipless as well as top waters and it works like a charm. It's a 6'6" medium action rod. I can probably count on one hand the number of fish that have come undone on this one in it's lifetime. You obviously can't get this rod anymore but a good medium action rod with enough back bone to set the hook solidly but yet flexible enough to keep the line loaded when the fish is dancing on the surface trying to shake the lure is what you need; that's usually how they get loose, getting enough slack in the line for the hooks to unload, especially if they short strike and are poorly hooked.

Zell Rowland Topwater RodEven though the All Stars are not around Zell helped design the same basic rod for Impulse. Cast-A-Way has a similar model but the tip is more lively.

They make a trap caster rod. Excellent choice for traps and mid sized cranks.

If you feel that’s too heavy for you, try the 7’2 Swim Jig rod. +1 I use the discontinued CARA CLC-4-17 Composite Cranker if not ripping out of grass.

I just happen to have that rod in great condition. Labels not even worn off. I also have two AllStar worm rods. I'd sell all three.
