Amistad.
7’3 with a great tip. Easy to rip traps out of the grass with it.

If you feel that’s too heavy for you, try the 7’2 Swim Jig rod.

For Rayburn I'd go 7'6 to 7'11. Lately I've been using the Shimano slx heavy composite 7'4. I know some guys that throw a trap on a cara crig rod

In good grass I have a 7'11" heavy swimbait rod that has the right amount of tip to handle fish on a trap and more than a enough back bone to actually rip a trap

I have that same 7'4" Shimano in the Curado model and it is a good trap rod

They make a trap caster rod.

I'm old school but the rod I use works like a charm and I've had it for 30+ years. I use an American made All Star Zell Rowland Top Water Special to throw lipless as well as top waters and it works like a charm. It's a 6'6" medium action rod. I can probably count on one hand the number of fish that have come undone on this one in it's lifetime. You obviously can't get this rod anymore but a good medium action rod with enough back bone to set the hook solidly but yet flexible enough to keep the line loaded when the fish is dancing on the surface trying to shake the lure is what you need; that's usually how they get loose, getting enough slack in the line for the hooks to unload, especially if they short strike and are poorly hooked.

Zell Rowland Topwater Rod

Even though the All Stars are not around Zell helped design the same basic rod for Impulse. Cast-A-Way has a similar model but the tip is more lively.

Lakeway-

I also use a 6'8" Medium- it's a Lew's Tournament Pro rod for lipless(rod D/C)........................I too have lost less than you can count on one hand with this rod- just won't come unbuttoned. Thanks .

Excellent choice for traps and mid sized cranks.

If you feel that’s too heavy for you, try the 7’2 Swim Jig rod.

+1

I use the discontinued CARA CLC-4-17 Composite Cranker if not ripping out of grass.

Never liked the Composite version myself. But the 4-17 is bad little squarebill rod!

I just happen to have that rod in great condition. Labels not even worn off. I also have two AllStar worm rods. I'd sell all three.

I might be in the market for them in February.

Falcon Lowrider Lizard Dragger is all I’ve used to rip lipless in grass, love it. Typically throwing 5/8 oz or 3/4 oz One Knockers.

The Lowriders seem to all have a bit more moderate of an action compared to the same rod in the Cara version. I have both a Cara Lizard Dragger 1 and Lowrider Lizard Dragger 1. The Cara action is more stiff and sensitive than the Lowrider, but I prefer the Lowriders for most all my moving baits.

I used a Kunnan 8’ medium heavy when I used to rip the traps through grass. The handle was a little past my elbow and it relieved a lot of the stress off my wrist. Then I broke it and can’t find a replacement that I’m comfortable with
