Interesting article of a study funded by the United Nations shows that a model indicates that world population will exceed 8 billion sometime withing the next few days. It also shows that population will probably top out somewhere around 10 billion, and then begin to slowly decline. A few countries such as India will continue to increase, but the average will decrease mostly due to lower birth rates.The implications are pretty significant for sure. Mostly it will mean an aging population with fewer to pay the bills and fewer to do the work. Will not significantly affect those of us on here but could possible affect our kids and grandkids.

Ted Turner has advocated for a global one child per house policy for 100 years. He thinks that would get the world population down to 3 billion.

You can put the entire world population in the state of Arkansas, and still have a good bit of room for each.

The green deal, global warming, no fossil fuels, government control is all fueled by population control. Cutting down diesel fuel by itself will kill off at least three billion of the lesser needed people on the planet. It doesn't take much pulling on the string to see these discussions among the self appointed elites of the world.

Europe, China, Japan and the US are going through population collapse...that's why they opened the borders to bring in the South American intellectuals.

A study funded by the United Nations has no merit.

Actually I don't think that's correct. It would not be a good thing according to what I have read and heard.

Probably be the opposite of inflation. Deflation would be even more painful. I remember back in the 60s or so when we talked a lot about zero population growth and for awhile took it seriously. But suddenly we realized our economy depends on growth and without it we get stagnation.

From a progressive news source that believes we need mass immigration of South American intellectuals.

"Why U.S. Population Growth Is Collapsing"

"The U.S. population grew at the slowest pace in history in 2021, according to census data released last week. That news sounds extreme, but it’s on trend. First came 2020, which saw one of the lowest U.S. population-growth rates ever. And now we have 2021 officially setting the all-time record.
U.S. growth didn’t slowly fade away: It slipped, and slipped, and then fell off a cliff. The 2010s were already demographically stagnant; every year from 2011 to 2017, the U.S. grew by only 2 million people. In 2020, the U.S. grew by just 1.1 million. Last year, we added only 393,000 people."

<snip>

"Simply put, the U.S. has too few births, too many deaths, and not enough immigrants. Whether by accident, design, or a total misunderstanding of basic economics, America has steered itself into the demographic danger zone."
