World Population

World Population - 11/13/22 04:43 PM

Interesting article of a study funded by the United Nations shows that a model indicates that world population will exceed 8 billion sometime withing the next few days. It also shows that population will probably top out somewhere around 10 billion, and then begin to slowly decline. A few countries such as India will continue to increase, but the average will decrease mostly due to lower birth rates. The implications are pretty significant for sure. Mostly it will mean an aging population with fewer to pay the bills and fewer to do the work. Will not significantly affect those of us on here but could possible affect our kids and grandkids.

Re: World Population - 11/13/22 04:55 PM

Ted Turner has advocated for a global one child per house policy for 100 years. He thinks that would get the world population down to 3 billion.

Re: World Population - 11/13/22 05:14 PM

You can put the entire world population in the state of Arkansas, and still have a good bit of room for each.

The green deal, global warming, no fossil fuels, government control is all fueled by population control. Cutting down diesel fuel by itself will kill off at least three billion of the lesser needed people on the planet. It doesn't take much pulling on the string to see these discussions among the self appointed elites of the world.

Probably be the opposite of inflation. Deflation would be even more painful. I remember back in the 60s or so when we talked a lot about zero population growth and for awhile took it seriously. But suddenly we realized our economy depends on growth and without it we get stagnation.

Re: World Population - 11/13/22 09:41 PM

From a progressive news source that believes we need mass immigration of South American intellectuals.

"Why U.S. Population Growth Is Collapsing"

"The U.S. population grew at the slowest pace in history in 2021, according to census data released last week. That news sounds extreme, but it’s on trend. First came 2020, which saw one of the lowest U.S. population-growth rates ever. And now we have 2021 officially setting the all-time record.
U.S. growth didn’t slowly fade away: It slipped, and slipped, and then fell off a cliff. The 2010s were already demographically stagnant; every year from 2011 to 2017, the U.S. grew by only 2 million people. In 2020, the U.S. grew by just 1.1 million. Last year, we added only 393,000 people."

<snip>

"Simply put, the U.S. has too few births, too many deaths, and not enough immigrants. Whether by accident, design, or a total misunderstanding of basic economics, America has steered itself into the demographic danger zone."

Population crash will probably be the biggest challenge humanity faces in the next 100 years. We've built economic and political systems on the back of never-ending growth. When the music stops a bunch of countries are going to be left without a chair. The US will be fine. The millennials are numerous and fairly young still, not to mention, as John pointed out, our borders are being flooded. Illegal immigration creates huge problems to be certain, but so would a declining population. The first country that will implode will be china, there one child policy has caused irreparable damage to their population.

population crash or war from overcrowding, either or would be the first stop to ending the source of everyone's angst.

the ONLY WAY so called climate change can be stopped or even decline (according to all the reasons claimed to be harming it) the earth will have to cleanse itself of

some humans.

you can not sit back and claim mankind is destroying the earth while at the same time out of the other side of your mouth you want more population, sorry, the math

won't add up.

let me lay out a couple of my problems with all this bs manmade climate change.

1. I have yet to see anyone show me any solid proof, NON GOVT. FUNDED research that is peer reviewed that proves we are destroying a dam thing.

2. I can present you facts on volcanoes, wanna talk about the possibility of another massive eruption like krakatoa in the 1800s. how about the massive populations in both china (who is building a new COAL fired power plant A DAY) and then india who is now the second most populous, (1,202 people per mi2). how bout we go to earthquakes, I have facts proving that our axis has shifted due to some recent quakes that literally rocked the world like fukishima.

your comments in red are pointing to wanting more population to offset the anticipated loss over the next few yrs./decades so there are enough "to pay the bills and do the work".
as for the U.N. well, blue helmets make good targets. I wouldn't trust an entity that puts iran, saudi arabia as well as others on the human rights commission that oversees the world, talk about pot callin the kettle black.

so keep up the cheap shots, I will sit back in eager anticipation of your proven/NON GOVT. FUNDED/peer reviewed facts.

Re: World Population - 11/14/22 06:05 PM

To believe the great climate hoax, you must believe things that are impossible to prove, and have been dis proven over and over.

You must believe:
CO2 is a pollutant. It's not, it's essential for life on the planet.
The current CO2 level is 400 parts per million. That's 0.00004% When life thrived on earth at it's highest, CO2 was 1000ppm.
Human produced CO2 is 1 molecule for 86,000 molecules of air. What they can't say is if we went full green retard, and cut that in half, what would happen? Crickets.
The other question, what's the correct temperature? Again, crickets.

When you step back and look at the level of ridiculousness and the only "cure" is taxes and government control, it becomes obvious this has nothing to do with the weather.

The decline in population, if it happens, will probably be because people decide to have fewer kids. Not a bad thing for sure. But it does have consequences, some good, some bad. Our economy, currently, is a function of population growth. If couples only have two kids, the population will decline for obvious reasons without immigration. The average age will increase, the percentage of retirees will increase and so the percentage of those working will decrease putting a larger burden on those working. With the proper planning, it can probably be mitigated, but I am not sure we have the discipline to do it.

We took the house. It doesn't matter how much you loose by, you still lost. Bidens agenda is done.

The Dems did not lose as much as the pollsters thought, i.e., they beat the spread. To the libtard mind that is a win. Will not feel like a win when the House starts investigating the Biden crime family though.

The fewest seats lost by the President party ever, except for two times. And that happened when there was an expectation that the House would lose 40-60 seats. And it has started the internal bickering within the Republican party. So yeah, it was a win in the grand scheme of things.

How many seats did the Dems lose?

Enough. Will enjoy watching McCarthy pry the gavel from Pelosi's claws.

Hope Trump gets the nomination as he will be the easiest to defeat. DeSantis is no less devious but much smarter.

If Biden continues his descent into dementia, who will the Democrats rollout there to run against the Republican nominee? Seems their bench is pretty weak..

Which one do you think will have a better chance to pull over some of the deceased voters?

Hopadoobie, you are outdoing yourself which is a big hurdle. You need to get back to checking fences.

Hey Hopadoobiel, see you are back from checking the fences. Was hoping you would have some time to reflect and clear your mind, if there is one, but that was obviously too much to hope for.
