I won an autographed basketball by the Phoenix Suns in 1973. In the past 20 years I’ve won 7 I pads at business conventions.
The big winner I know is my nephew 1.7 million in Arizona Lottery

About 10 years ago a guy I know were talking at one of those small town events where they were selling 500 raffle ticket for $100 a piece

I convinced him we should buy 1 each, we walked up together and bought them

About a hour later they drew and he won the truck, brand new 1/2 ton Chevy 4 door...nice truck

Closest I ever been I guess

One of my Dad's friends owned a liquor store across the parking lot from the volunteer fire station where they were both members. Dad brown bagged his lunch every day and ate at the fire station. He'd leave work, go into the liquor store to buy a Diet Coke and a scratch off ticket and go to the fire station. One day he runs into a friend's wife she asks where he's heading, he tells her that he's going into Richard's store. She says she'll join him. Dad holds the door for her, she gets to the counter first and buys a scratch off. The one Dad would have bought if he didn't hold the door for her. She won $50K. Dad has not bought a lottery ticket since.

My wife (then girlfriend) won an all-expense (only one meal a day) trip to Hawaii when we were in college. Was a nice belated honeymoon (had to finish college first).

Back in the 60's my dad worked for Electrolux selling vacuum cleaners. The had a nation wide contest that if he sold so many cleaners he would have one chance and if he sold so many carpet cleaner heads he would get another ticket in the drawing. He got both chances and they drew his name for a $35,000 new house. Back in the 60's that was a lot of money! banana

I was blessed to win 2 trips to Red River, NM back in June in a raffle they held to raise funds for some script writing thing to try and land a movie. I have yet to take the trips, but I'm taking my best friend because he's never been to the mountains. Hoping to go once in the winter and once in the summer.

Taking a friend to the mountains? Wasn't there a movie about that.
