Use what you like best. Using mostly Megabass and GLoomis for bottom contact and a few other presentations and Dobyns for most of my moving baits. Hard to get rid of the Dobyns solely because of their warranty

I've tried out a lot of different manufacturer's over the last 50 years and they all make some that feel great and look great and at different price points. Half the fun of fishing is looking for my next favorite rod. It would be boring to walk into a tackle shop and not pick up a rod and shake it a few times because I was loyal to only one manufacturer. I have my preferences but there is always something I'll buy if it looks and feels right and at what I consider best bang for my buck.

Bought this Star Rod when I needed one quick and looked at what was available in store at a Bass Pro Shop in south florida during pandemic 2 years ago... Best bang for my buck. Have had one before and this one was just what I needed.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

dobyns probably does the best job for having a rod for every type of application but im trying to switch all my rods to a american made rod company.

Falcon is hard to beat due to quality and price points. Just tried out a JB3 this weekend and was thoroughly impressed. I'll be looking at those a little closer. At the end of the day, rods are like the rest of the tools we use, if you have confidence in it, it's the right one for you. BTW, the biggest mistake I see most people make with rods is going too light. This results in lost fish. When in doubt, go heavier.

I don't think one brand makes the best rod for every presentation. I prefer a G. Loomis for any bottom contact bait and think they are the most sensitive rod on the market. My favorite cranking rods are Dobyns and feel they are very well. I still use Falcon for C-rigs.

Well said. On the redneck cheap [censored] budget it's hard to do that. But adding them one at a time sure makes it easier. 20 rods all the same brand, not gonna happen. It's gotta have that certain feeling, and then it has to be reasonably priced.

I agree the lowrider is probably the best $120 rod you will ever use.

Another vote for Falcon. I own probably 10 rods made by different MFG's down from probably 30. Every time I replace one I do so with a Falcon Cara, as their quality and feel far exceed their price point.
