It became on 1/8 mile in the 80's. Spent lots of time there.

Dirt track racing is lame.

Find a track that has left and right hand turns as well as elevation changes.

That's real racing.

I lost interest in some of the local drag strips when many went to 1/8 mile. I’m sure there were reasons, but I really never got it. Texas motorcross tracks were exciting in the 60s and 70s.

1/8th mile is like watching paint dry

The Sanger drag track closed sometime ago. I got to take one of my boys up there a few years back and we really enjoyed it.

Now (or was not that long ago) a parking lot for unfinished Peterbilt trucks.

The cars were getting too fast for 1/4 mile. Paint can’t dry in 3 seconds @ 250 mph.

Kennedale race tracks are long since gone, sadly. Shut them down because of the noise.

And then comes the Tesla racing.

I just looked at the Kennedale speedway Park schedule, shows to have races tonight, confused 3

Holy Carp! They moved it! I did not know that. I had driven by the old Cowtown Speedway and saw where there was a old abandoned mobile home there, just a couple of months ago. I thought the noise variance got them too. Did not know they moved down the street and around the corner. I grew up on the old Cowtown Speedway and the old Texas Raceway. The girls were cute and the dads knew how to boat ramp a young man with wild eyes. Chit I might have to go out there again!

Thanks Westy!

Had a longtime friend killed at a 1/4 mile track earlier this month in Kansas.

Extend the shut down area. Not shorten the track. Jesus.

Grayson County Speedway was always fun. When I was a kid but I haven’t been in a long time.
