This was America, and you could load up and head to local dirt track races on Saturday nights? Cost next to nothing to get in…load up coolers, some snacks and whatnot and just have a whole night of fun! It’s a shame that youngsters will never get to experience that in this country. RIP local dirt track races!

RIP local dirt track races! No kidding. Dirt track stock car races. Went to many as a kid. All the locals running their old stock cars. The water truck wetting the dirt prior to the race to keep the dust down. Loud exhausts and the smell of gasoline combustion engines. Lake Moc-A-Tek speedway in the Poconos. Good times. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/06/full-1606-144095-fdfdfdfd.jpg)

Grew up on the dirt and drag tracks in Kennedale. But that was the 80's and the new crowd shut all of it down. Yeah it was a good time and learned a lot about life out on those tracks. Sure miss ol' Texas Raceway.

I remember many a weekend at Green Valley drag strip with my dad and uncles. Then in Sanger for years at the drags. We watched many times the dirt cars at devil's bowl and Ardmore. I miss those nights.

Anyone remember the Drag Strip at Caddo Mills. Big time races there in the late 1950s!

I made many a 1/4 mile pass at the Kennedale strip. Had to hide the trophies from my parents. This was back in the late 60s. Good times.
