We went to Fish N' Tails in Liquor City last night for dinner. We each had the catfish basket with fries and two soft drinks. $50 for two of us with taxes and a token tip since this is a place your order at the bar and seat yourself place. FJB again.

This has nothing to do with McDonald's, but my sons took me to fisherman's market for father's day last night. Raw oysters $22 dollars a dozen. We each had a dozen. Now that's sticker shock!

Its pretty bad when you can go to Texas Roadhouse for a smidgen more than McDonalds. Even the fried chicken places are ridiculous now! $10 for a 4 piece tender dinner combo! #FJB

Concur, I got kinda large when I was traveling every week for work. I just lacked the discipline to stay away from that drive through

It's the convenience. I have started cooking a lot more now that summer is here and things are slower at work. I had forgotten just how good of a cook I actually am. I've also found numerous new recipes online and tweaked them a bit. Makes life easier.

at least in El Paso....its within 2 dollars to a lot of restaurants, taco joints...and like someone mentioned even Texas Roadhouse! Hell even local owned spots arent far off. Definitely making a conscious effort to spend the extra dollar or 2 for better food at local spots and other restaurants.

To this day.....Im still looking for that "8%" inflation rate we are facing. Im seeing more like 15-30% plus!!!

But...this things definitely hit me harder because of my previous shopping habits. Im the type who loads up on stuff when its on sale so I dont gotta pay retail when I need it later. Maybe thats why im feeling these bigger percentage jumps. NOTHINGS ever on sale any more. Even the weekly grocery ads are just wasting ink...it is a break, but definitely not a good deal! at all!

why is it surprising if we dont buy from suppliers? Where else would we get the sticker shock if it wasnt when we get the restaurant bill? thats like saying you are surprised people are shocked at gas prices since we dont buy crude direct. Of course we are gonna be shocked when we buy 4 items and a drink at taco bell and its $14.

Because I assume you read, watch, consume news, it's been all over, did you think it was gonna miss you? What do you think happens when wholesale prices rise? Do you think the only thing oil affects is gas, its pervasive and hits everyone.

Im surprised the cost of beef isn't more than it is. The input cost to finish beef cattle is out of control. The market prices at auction isn't keeping up with finishing costs , not even close. The cost of grain finished beef is about to skyrocket if you think it is high now,.......wait a minute.

GOD is good!

They stay busy over here. That said, burger box is a better option.

The demand for premium cuts is still through the roof, I buy brisket, skirts, but the vast majority is ground. The ground price is up buy not nearly like the skirts and brisket. They gotta sell the whole cow and that's the only thing keeping ground in check. My buddy that has steak place is seeing pretty big hit on the highest end stuff especially. I dont know what the farmers are getting at market or if the increases are landing at the processor.
