Mine never comes out of the rod box anymore, it’s been replaced by something so much better, quicker and easier. Dropshot I know his secret. It's an umbrella rig slow rolled in the brush

Mark Pack showed me how to C-Rig years ago and now it's one of my favorite ways to fish. I use a Dobyns 804C. Carolina riggin special rod with Shimano Antares 7.4 reel. 20lb. Seaguar Abrazx floro. 2 Carolina keepers and a one ounce Joy Tungston weight. This is an awesome setup. Does not matter if it's 3' or 30' I throw it everywhere and it catches pigs. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/05/full-41404-140334-img_2454.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/05/full-41404-140335-img_2455.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/05/full-41404-140336-20211016_085344.jpg) [img]http://[/img] I think this set up is getting there.

I absolutely love fishing a c-rig, setup varies depending on whether I'm fishing shallow or deep. 95% of the time 4 to 6ft leader,1/2 oz barrel shallow, 1 oz deep. Most only fish c-rig in the summer months or when fishing deep and trying to cover water. I am here to tell you that this rig flat out catches fish.Shallow, deep, hot, cold, dirty water or clear year around I catch fish on a c-rig especially in grass and wood. Its one of the few techniques that will catch fish anytime anywhere .

It’s one of my confidence techniques. Pretty much throw it on half or 3/4 lead bullet. Bead and brass are optional. The beads will chafe the line. maybe the clicking noise helps idk had great days with/without. Often I’ll miss bites and have teeth marks on the weight. ( for all y’all that thinks the perfect bait and color matter..). I put a bobber stop between the weight and the knot on the swivel. Especially with tungsten. I dislike those Carolina keeper stops. 2 to 3 foot mono or flouro leader. Usually 15#. 20 mainline flouro. I pretty much throw a fluke, brush hog, or mag lizard. I like a 784 dobyns. I use a regular wire hook. Drag it pop it twitch it hop it. It all works. Just fish it.

I have fished 51 FLW - MLF events from the back of many different boats and many different lakes and rivers. I carried 2 rods a g loomis nrx 895 and a g loomis 905 conquest spooled with 20 lb mono, 1 oz sk barrel tungsten weight, approx 24 to 30 inch leader, 3/0 hook, on 15lb invex . using metanium reels. won 4 ranger boats, 15 top 10 finishes for a total of 179,527.00 dollars. the cr rig has been very good for me, and i keep it very simple. hope this helps.

I use an academy all star c rig rod and a Shimano reel, 15lb mono main line and 20 lb mono leader. Swivel 2 beads. The heavier leader allows the bait to sink slower and stay in the strike zone longer Caught this today on the c-rig on that set up. The bait just tends to float a little better and fish smoked it. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/06/full-57257-142344-20220612_075427.jpg)

I’ll do just about everything imaginable to avoid having to throw one…. But if I do I prefer an egg sinker. For me it seems to hang up a bit less than the other options. Really, buda? I figured you were an offshore C-rig kinda guy. C-rig is one of my favorite ways to fish.
