The place I currently work at doesn't pay you overtime either. If you work over your time, you get it "added to your next check," which somehow gets forgotten. About 6-7 years ago, a tree and I got tangled up and ended up with 3 cracked vertebra, ripped up rotator cuff and a concussion. Boss man told me I had to use my vacation time for any time I missed at work. Seems like pretty standard practice now days. Or so I thought. And this is why people need to read up on labor laws. exactly

ROANOKE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - The Department of Labor said a Roanoke barbeque restaurant owes $867,572 in back wages to 910 employes after investigators found that it was allegedly not paying overtime and including managers in its tip pool. According to the Wage and Hour Division, the Roanoke Hard Eight BBQ restaurant failed to pay tipped employees fairly by including managers in the tip pool. The Fair Labor Standards Act does not allow employers or their managers to keep tips that workers receive for any purpose. storyWHY would managers be included in a tip pool?!?! This is why tipping needs to be done away with. Pay them what the job is worth! Yeah, not sure why managers part of it. Getting rid of tipping would cost you in higher priced menu selections at full service restaurants. But you save on the tip. Seems it would all equal out. naw man many people don't tip

I’ve been in many countries where there is no tipping. I much prefer it. The problem was, keeping up with which was which. I’m sure I left tips at places it was not needed.

I agree with this Meh, this is a rare practice that is hugely stupid and most people know better than to do something so stupid. I cant believe a CPA which they for sure have reviewing their stuff ever signed off on it. The tipping system works just fine. Exactly. From what I know and from a reliable source, they're not very well buttoned up. Wouldn't surprise me if they get nailed for more blunders.

lots of places are sneaking in a gratuity charge.. I prefer to tip as I feel. I also try to tip cash to the person whom I choose. I feel tips added to your card, don't get shared properly.
Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.
If you put beans in your chili, you don't know beans about chili.

I’m trying to figure out why you’d tip at Hard 8. I’ve never been seated by a hostess, had my drink refilled, or food brought to me at Hard 8. I order, they hand me my food, I pay then then I find my own seat. Who would tip at hard 8? Also I’ve never had a bad meal at Hard 8. It’s not the greatest BBQ, but definitely not the worst.
