I'm right handed but taught myself to throw baitcasters left handed. For me it wasn't that hard to get used to.

I have had my right rotator cuff repaired 2 times and had to learn to cast left handed. After I healed up, I tried casting right handed and it just didn't feel right. Now my left arm is my strong, dominant arm. It actually works out well when I am on the front deck with a partner. I take the left side of the deck and they take the right side, gives us both a little bit more clearance when casting.

I'm right handed. I reel the spinning reel with the left hand, but reel the baitcaster with my right hand. It just feels natural to me, and I don't care about losing the split second from switching hands to reel with the baitcaster. Plus, when it comes to landing a big fish I no doubt in my mind would much rather be reeling in with the right hand. I also heard that when you reel in with your left hand it feels like somebody else is doing it. Wait, nevermind that's not fishing related...

I am right-handed but use left hand reels, no need to switch hands.

I cast with my left and reel with my right...very rarely do I switch hands.
That being said...now that I'm learning skipping...I can't do it with my left as well as my right. So I'm thinking about getting 1-2 left handed reels for this.
I'm pretty ambidextrous on many things so this might be why.

Right handed here but I mainly flip left and cast both. If you flip and switch, you could be late and lose fish during the switch process

I am right handed but only use left handed reels. It’s more comfortable for me since I started fishing with left handed spinning reels.

I'm officially right handed, but do almost everything left handed except for throwing and writing. That being said I have never thought twice about casing lefty and reeling righty. It always felt natural.

Im right handed but started using lefty reels about 15 years ago due elbow issues. Took all of about 20 minuets to never look back and never be out of shape again for a hookset. Too me I think its odd that most people already reel left handed and spinning rods, but say they cant do it on a baitcaster Same thing here! As an added benefit, I don’t have to make an excuse to NOT loan out a rod/reel!

I’m the same way, though my spinning rods are set up to cast right handed and crank with my left!

back in the day when my dad bought me my first setup it was a spinning outfit. (Maybe around 1947.) and in those days they were all left handers. I fished that way for several years and then began salt water where once3 again the older reels were left- handed spinners. Penns to be exact. Then went into Abu's and once again went left handed.
I have been fishing left handed Shimano's for 30 years. Of late using used Metaniums I buy off of Ebay for about $100 each plus shipping out of Japan.
I always cast right handed, reel left handed.

I bought a left handed 1310 Quantum reel years ago thinking I'd take away the hand swap and speed up my game a little. That was so awkward. I tried it for part of a day and eventually gave up.

Lived in Tyler back in the 90s and so did Jay Yelas. Would be around him from time to time and asked why he was fishing both right and left hand reels. His reply was to extend his professional career by not overworking his elbows and wrists on just one side. Also, it was more efficient to cast right-reel left OR cast left-reel right.

I have a left handed baitcast reel that I tried to use for flipping and pitching. Reeling wasn’t the issue, but setting the hook didn’t feel as natural and wasn’t executed very well, even though I have no problem doing it with a spinning reel. I gave up trying to figure out why it was an issue, and also gave up and went back to a right handed reel. I’m sure I’ll try it again in the future, because it would be more efficient to either cast left handed (which I’m terrible at) or be able to reel lefty and set the hook well righty.
