They are beautiful out of the water, and tasty out of the grease! Cross between a black and white crappie. Maybe that's why I never caught one - in FL we caught black crappie (speckled perch is the name there) almost exclusively and here we get white crappie, rarely a black.

I've caught a couple of them on Benbrook. We always called them Magnolia Crappie.
