Not locking your car is sort of asking for it. Not that it justifies the thief in any way, but it sure does make it hard to feel sympathetic to the idiot who can't lock a car door.

When I was looking for property to buy a few years back, the realtor took us by a nice looking fly fishing area. She told me that if I go fishing in that area to leave the vehicle unlocked or I would get back to my vehicle and find the windows broken out. Haven't fished that area and didn't buy a property near there. A helpful red flag by the realtor. Constantly hearing about people getting their cars broken into or stolen in that part of the county since then.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

I never lock any car doors or take keys out where I live.

I did walk out early one morning and found my glove box open with chit scattered all over hell inside.

I thought I’d been robbed so that night I left it in the front yard with the dome light on and door open. I posted up in some brush by the house with a 12 gauge for hours.

Found out next day one of my daughters was rummaging through looking for insurance card

I’ll never get those 5 hours back

It's still 'breaking and entering'. Too tired to explain the whyfor, may do so in morning

Don’t read to much into it. If they just opened the door, the didn’t break anything.

None of the women I know ever lock their car doors, too much bother to mash the button and carry the key around.

Both my truck and my wife's car is always locked when we get out of them. We have never had a problem in our neighbor hood, at least not yet.
