Tried alligator once and it was nasty as get out..... how was it made? I've had fried gator (good not great) and gator sausage (some of the best sausage I've ever had). Fried gator tail is ok, I wouldn’t seek it out though

Yes, but I paused a moment and reconsidered. In that state of reflection I realized that it really wasn’t about the taste to start…with so I just went back at it and powered thru.

Stewed Goo. I could smell it walking up to the camp after a morning duck hunt in Little Chenier, Louisiana and instantly suspected something was wrong. As hungry as we were, I had to have some. Turible!

while working on the prison at ft. stockton some of us went to terlinqua while the chili cookoff was on. lets just say there were a couple that had very questionable tastes, one only stayed down a few seconds (those cooks did not like me when that happened). most all we tasted was very good to double excellent chili so there is that.

Gasoline. The old leaded kind. When I was a kid, learning to siphon gas from my Dads 49 Ford pickup in a small gas can for the lawnmower. It takes a few days to get that gasoline taste out of your mouth.

I remember that lingering nasty taste of gasoline from siphoning when I was a kid...still prefer it to miracle whip

Tried alligator once and it was nasty as get out..... how was it made? I've had fried gator (good not great) and gator sausage (some of the best sausage I've ever had). It was fried. We ate it at Captain John's Seafood & Cajun Grill in McAlester. This place is great, IMO. That's the only thing that hasn't tasted perfect from that restaurant. It was so far from perfect that I couldn't even eat it. It had to be the gator, not the cook.

Squid ink over spaghetti. We were traveling in Italy and were on our way to Venice and everyone told us we had to have a dinner of squid ink. Well I ordered it and it was like eating spaghetti covered with chalk dust. I just remember thinking, I got this when I could have had anything else on the menu... And yes it does stain your tongue and teeth for a day or so... Got the pictures to prove it.. Dan

I pressure cooked a carp .... once. My dad caught a 13 lb. Buffalo. Pressure cooked it, mixed 50/50 with the cheapest canned salmon you could buy and made patties with it. It had a different bouquet than gasoline but was about equal on the nasty scale.
