 Heavier ned rig

I've always thrown my ned rig using a light weight head-1/10 oz and 1/8 oz. Now winter is on the way and my fish are heading to
deeper water. Is anybody out there throwing a ned rig with a 1/4 oz or 3/8 oz weight. Does the heavier weight ruin the ned rig
as a finesse bait?

Heavier weights don't allow you to glide the bait, it also doesn't allow for a more subtle landing. That being said, I can't get bit on any that I throw. So who am I to help.

I actually throw between an 1/8-1/4 oz for most of my ned rigging. Weight varies by depth and wind, as I always try to make sure I'm having bottom contact. I don't think it ruins it all but that has just been my experience. I can't stand to throw the lighter weights, but I'm usually ned rigging 10-20 feet of water and it would take forever to get to the bottom.

I mostly throw 1/5 oz, I've caught thousands of bass on it. Seems to work well out to be about 20 feet of depth.
