I've always thrown my ned rig using a light weight head-1/10 oz and 1/8 oz. Now winter is on the way and my fish are heading to
deeper water. Is anybody out there throwing a ned rig with a 1/4 oz or 3/8 oz weight. Does the heavier weight ruin the ned rig
as a finesse bait?

Heavier weights don't allow you to glide the bait, it also doesn't allow for a more subtle landing. That being said, I can't get bit on any that I throw. So who am I to help. banana

I actually throw between an 1/8-1/4 oz for most of my ned rigging. Weight varies by depth and wind, as I always try to make sure I'm having bottom contact. I don't think it ruins it all but that has just been my experience. I can't stand to throw the lighter weights, but I'm usually ned rigging 10-20 feet of water and it would take forever to get to the bottom.

I mostly throw 1/5 oz, I've caught thousands of bass on it. Seems to work well out to be about 20 feet of depth.

I sell the fool out of the Heavier Weights so somebody out there must be catching some fish on them. Also sell the fool out of them on the Tackle Warehouse site.
