I've only caught a couple hybrids and a couple stripper in the last 2 weeks. Just to clarify this is a "striper" ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/10/full-2652-115567-striper.jpg) And these are Strippers ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/10/full-2652-115568-cartoon_strippers.jpg) J-Moe is doing a lot more with the Fly rod than we knew... you are welcome... you didn't happen to get the GPS coordinates on the strippers location? (asking for a friend)

According to what the corps of engineers had posted on there website, the answer is no, but I can't find that information anymore, it's been removed. Maybe try calling. Here is their number. (979)-596-1622

Looks like the boat ramps are closed at Rocky Creek due to flood damage. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/11/full-95815-116685-rocky_creek.jpg)

Thanks for posting. I'm actually really saddened to see this. I always loved seeing that old bridge because it meant I was creek fishing, one of my favorite ways to spend a day. It was still up this spring, so it must have collapsed over the summer. Really bummed. On a bright note, the creek looks to have plenty of water. I'm hoping to pull a few crappie out of there in the coming months. Fingers crossed.

Fished around that bridge at this same time last year. There is certainly a lot more water than last year. I remember a big log jam just upstream of the bridge last year. Just a thought, but maybe that had something to do with its demise when the water levels rose this year.

Cool pic. This should be a really good area of the creek to catch crappie when they begin moving shallow in February/March. Definitely plenty of structure for them to hang out around.

The lake level is 1/2 foot above normal. Hopefully the COE won't open the gates. The game wardens said the mouth of the Yegua is silted in pretty bad. They tried to get a power drive in the mouth and got stuck. They had to get a second power drive to pull it out. Nails and Cedar were up about a foot with a little flow at CR125. I would expect there might be a few crappie in there Jared. The Yegua got a good flushing and its setting up for good crappie and white bass fishing this winter. Here's a picture of the Yegua at Newman Bottom ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/11/full-89995-117154-nb_110621.jpg)

I called the Corps and talked to a really nice lady. She said Rocky Creek and Yegua Creek boat ramps are now for campers only. Yegua Creek has a new public, free boat ramp. She said the turn off if before you get to the gate at Yegua Creek. Overnight camping is $25/nite off season.

Cool pic, J-Moe! Thanks for the update on the creeks. There's a good possibility I'll be there this upcoming weekend.

I called last week trying to plan a day trip there from Smithville. Things sure have changed since I lived there years ago. I’m thinking about launching from Big Creek but the lady there told me I can’t pay until 9 am when the store opens. I’d like to get an earlier start. I want to drift some jug lines while I either striper fish or crappie. Been years since I been to Somerville so I’m going to play it by ear so to speak.
Show respect to other boats, enjoy every day and every bite on the water you never know when it’s going to be the last. Keep a tight line and hook baited can’t catch ‘em on credit.
