I have fished long enough to know that you are not going to catch "100" each trip nor do I go fishing each time expecting a "10". Never said the trip was a "waste of time". I was just saying that the fishing was "tough" and it was, we fished really HARD for 13 hours each day for two days. The bites did not come easy, I guess that is what I was saying. Now, yes I have fished just as hard and for just as long on other trips and other lakes and would have been happy to just catch a fish. Ivie is a great lake, a very healthy fishery with lots of very healthy bass. Was blessed to catch the fish we did and blessed to spend time with my dad on the water.

Wouldn't worry too much about defending your statement. There are guys in here who only comment to be negative towards others. I live 40 mins from Ivie and understand what you are saying. Just glad yall were able to catch a few. The lake can be tough if you are fishing tournaments. Numbers right now aren't too bad but finding the big bite is hard.

I get you man, just hassling you cuz honestly a lot of people that fish good lakes get real spoiled and statements like yours blow my mind. Just funny to me....cuz you did way better than me when I went out there! LOL No need to be overly sensitive like some people tend to be on here. Just was funny to read. Come fish my home lake and youll feel my pain!

I actually moved from Hobbs, no to Killeen Texas two months ago. I have fished the butte one time but that was 30 years ago. I made a lot of trips to conchas. Conchas is for me the lake that I could catch tons of fish each trip. Wacky worms or topwaters. Such a fun lake. You ever been?

Not this last year but a couple years ago he was lighting up the smallmouth bite.....quality too!!! I heard this years been a little rought though....how have you done there recently? The butte is a grinder at times...but they got big fish in there! I'm sure most people would choose conchas over the butte all other things equal...but the butte is still fun. New lake every week due to the extreme water level fluctuations. Big fish definitely live there though Conchas is about an hour less than Ivie for me...plus if I remember right there isnt much lodging up there and the stuff that is cabins and that kinda stuff. The rare times i take the trips I think im just gonna head west. Ivie is the likely next destination but I wouldnt mind hitting those other west texas lakes around Ivie. Butte isnt that bad if you are ever in the area
