Houston County is close to where you live and is nice and relaxing for a four day weekend.
Nice, small cabins with electricity and good campsites.

Due to the stumpy nature of the lake, you won’t see any jet skis or wake boats.

With just four days; staying close by, you will spend more time on vacation and less time driving.

I would suggest camping or cabin on Toledo or Big Sam.
If the fishing is slow or want some variety you can try the other lake or another region on the same lake.

Fayette County lake has some very nice Campgrounds with power. Coleto Creek has power and is nice. Choke canyon use to have some nice facilities.

Sam Rayburn camping with Power would be twin dykes, I think cassell boykins has some sites with power now.

Another vote for Bob Sandlin. A close second would be Caddo. You have to see/fish Caddo at least once in your lifetime. Very cool scenery.

Take you 4 days in Nacogdoches...

Fish Lake Pinkston, Naconiche, and Nacogdoches. AWESOME LAKES! My favorite was Pinkston. Will defeintely make this a return trip in the near future

If you insist on Rayburn, stay at Twin Dikes

Houston County is one of my favorite lakes in Texas, but sadly I think it has seen it's better days.

And with respect to CCTX's comment on HC, the stump filled nature of the lake does NOT stop the ski boats and pontoon boats. It can get very packed with them on the right summer time weekend

Nacogdoches is a great area. Not many campsites and/or cabins in that area though—there are a few nice cabins on Naconiche.

Hell if he wants to rough it out he can pitch a tent right there by that Pinkston ramp!
