Guess I'll have to be the one to ask. What's the Vaseline supposed to do?

Did the surgery cause you to type in all caps? We’re you doing that before? If so, I’m sure it was worth it. But, I think Coach should be aware of this side effect.

Gabapentin works for me. Only issue I have with it is taking 6 capsules a day. May have to increase dosage as the "burning foot" is getting bad again. It restricts how much walking I can do.

We have very similar diagnosis. I tried the gabapentin for awhile. It took some time for it to begin to work or perhaps I should say it took some time to find my therapeutic dose. By the time the dosage was upped to a level to whwre it began doing any good I began getting a vertigo-like dizziness as a side effect. Quit taking it after that. Good luck!

my dad is 75 and has been battling it for 9 years of so, every since he retired. He stood on concrete, in front of a machine his entire life. He now has to use a walker, and getting closer to a wheel chair. He can't feel his feet so he cant lift them when walking. His can pick his feet up using his legs but his feet hang, with his toes pointed to the floor. He trips and falls a lot if he don't has his walker. He has been to several doctors and he don't like them poking on him...He lives with it. I don't know what medication he takes but it don't help. I guarantee he wont mess with CBD or Mary Jane. I am more and more like him each day. Scary for my wife.

For the record my mom has it. Could be hereditary.

Still pretty athletic for a 57 year old, not diabetic, not a larger person even though I have a beer belly. 6’0 225. Someone asked was I large or diabetic. Walking on hands are not the answer as my neurologist said it will eventually move to my hands.

I asked that and he said it tricks the nerves. All I know is it helps so I’ll continue to do it.

I was wondering if anyone else has this. My feet neuropathy is so bad that I lose my balance, my feet are numb all the time, yet it feels like needles sticking in the bottom of my feet constantly. I have fell in the shower, can't walk up stairs, no escalator, no tram (airports) and it sucks completely. My doctor says its hereditary and yes, my dad and older brother have it but no where near as bad as mine. The neurologist has got me taking 1800mg a day of gabapentin (morning, lunch, evening). I'm 56 and not that overweight nor am I a diabetic. It has gotten so bad that I can not walk barefoot because my feet are so sensitive that it literally feels like the skin on the bottom of my feet are peeling off every time I lift my foot off of tile, wooden floors and even carpet. I would not wish this on anyone. I have just learned to adapt and live with it but if it continues to worsen, who knows what the outcome will be. I may have to give the vaseline trick a try.
