120 in a 1956 Ford back in 1957....I wasn't driving and it really scared me because i had just survived a wreck where I was in a car doing over 90 mph and three of us were extremely lucky to have walked away from a demolished car....and this was back before we had seat belts/safety glass etc.....

140mph in Dodge Challenger back in early 70’s when LBJ freeway just opened My cousin had a '70 Charger 440 and it had 140 on the speedometer and we were way past that.  That was the only vehicle I have ever been in that you could see the gas gauge dropping on!

I drive the speed limit or the flow of traffic speed on public roads.
Now, on an abandoned airport runway, been at 150mph.

2001 mustang GT speedometer went to 140 and it was maxed going down I55 south in Jackson MS. I could feel the car “compress?” not sure if that’s the right term or not, but was bad arse for sure.

I ran my wife's BMW 535 up to 138 on I 35 north of Hillsboro. A ricer went by making too much noise, so I thought I'd show him what German engineering will do. He petered out about 120. Ran out about 1/2 a mile from before I let off. It was still pulling. Funny thing - wife was asleep in the chair beside me.
Bigrebar - that 111 mph pass on the water is more impressive than 150 on land. I've run a boat up to ~ 95, and you've seriously got to be up on the wheel. Things change way faster in a boat.

105 in my 2004 Triton pickup coming back from Ok City,...in a line of about 7-8 cars and we were flying... being last in line I got the ticket from Hwy Patrol...

In a coworkers kit car his speedometer went up to 180 mph and i was dumb enough to ask if it would go that fast.

146 134 in a little ricer. I was racing the wife down 35 in Red Oak. She was in her Daytona Charger. We topped the hill side by side. I saw the back of a Tahoe in her lane and shut it down. She switched lanes and blew the doors off an Ellis County Deputy. I thought for sure she was going to jail, but he told her to slow the hell down and gave her a warning.

Things change way faster in a boat. 21' liberator on Canyon Lake. Had 2 old 2.5L racing Mercs on it and 4 bilge pumps to pump out the water that would wash over the transom when you shut her down.

130+ in our 1996 Honda Accord and it had plenty left. It had 140 MPH on the speed odometer.

175 in my GT500KR. I had just done some mods to it and was giving it a test run. There was plenty left to get if I had the nads to do it. Those are scary fast. We had one that was modded to no end. My legs were shaking, completely uncontrolable feeling in that car. The new C8's might not be that fast, but they are on a rail under acceleration. I was so impressed.
