And I mean house flies. Anyone else cover up with them. Never seen them this bad. Any way to get rid of them other than a fly swatter of fly strip?

They are really bad here too. Was out picking some fresh basil yesterday, and there are hundreds of baby black flies around my herb garden. No idea where they came from; I've never seen so many baby flies. Best thing to get rid of flies is the disposable rescue fly traps. Stick with the rescue brand, and stick with the disposable. For whatever reason, the others just don't work as well. They stink, and they attract lots of flies, so hang it outside away from doors or windows, and away from where you will be hanging out. As for getting the ones already in your house - do yourself a favor and get a bug-a-salt gun. It's not the most effective fly killer by any stretch, but it is by far the most fun.

Donโt fight it...change the dynamic and just turn into the skid. Westside got a Venus flytrap and now he likes to see flies in the house.

my dyna trap is working in overdrive killing all the bugs on my deck. with the DT it attracts the flies to the trap because the smell of all the other dead bugs inside of it. its kind of fun to watch them get sucked into it.

Pick up your dog poop and seal the trashcan lids. Reducing the fly population starts by not being nasty.

Victor Fly Trap worked great last year for us. The last two years were pretty bad in our house and the backyard. So far this year we havenโt been bothered. I bought some of these traps off Amazon and they worked great. They definitely smell, though.
For the ones in the house, we would just use the hose attachment on the vacuum and suck the flies off the windows. I also bought some clear sticky paper fly traps and put them on the inside of the windows and they worked very well, too.

Small pond in the front yard is full of elodea and dragonfly nymphs . Don't have any Martins so the "snake doctors" are having a field day . How's your Martin colony doing ?

Flies have been bad this week, had some type of black worm (army worm ?) come through in bunches last week, lightning bugs are the only bright spot.

I thought that the hard freeze in February would put a hurt on them, but just the opposite Iโve always wondered how it is, if hard freezes kill mosquitos and flies and such, then why are those bugs so prevalent in places like Alaska.

My thought too. Alaska, the Boundary Waters in Minnesota. Notorious for bad bugs during summer. Thought flee fly might know that.

Ordered some of these from Walmart on line, they will be here tomorrow. The reviews were outstanding. We donโt have a lot of flies but grilling often, itโs always better to have less. Sounds like you want to put it 30โ-40โ from the house, because of the smell.

This deal is actually amazing.
It took a couple of days perculating in the sun on a tree limb at the back of the yard. It has 25-30 flies inside trapped waiting to die and 10 more around the opening trying to find a way in.
If you just have a few flies when your grilling out side you need to buy one of these.
Simple directions and it works!

We usually have Martins out the wazoo, but they have been few and far between this year. We even have houses out for them and no birds occupying them. I was also wondering about the martins. Last year I had several that would fly under my patio cover every evening. This year I have far more peaches then I can eat or give away. The bugs of all kinds are thick by my trees. Flies are about normal here. I have a herd of skeeters that hang out on west side of house by my gate. I have only seen one in the house. Chiggers are bad too. When I traveled to New Braunfels and ate at a restaurant with an outside patio we would sacrifice some food to keep the flies busy. That reminds me of a fly joke. Do you know why they serve so much food at an Italian wedding?
