I’ve always wondered how it is, if hard freezes kill mosquitos and flies and such, then why are those bugs so prevalent in places like Alaska.

My thought too. Alaska, the Boundary Waters in Minnesota. Notorious for bad bugs during summer. Thought flee fly might know that.

They aren’t local mosquitos and flies and things of such nature...they come up on the cruise ships.

Best thing to get rid of flies is the disposable rescue fly traps. Stick with the rescue brand, and stick with the disposable. For whatever reason, the others just don't work as well. They stink, and they attract lots of flies, so hang it outside away from doors or windows, and away from where you will be hanging out.

As for getting the ones already in your house - do yourself a favor and get a bug-a-salt gun. It's not the most effective fly killer by any stretch, but it is by far the most fun.

Ordered some of these from Walmart on line, they will be here tomorrow. The reviews were outstanding.

We don’t have a lot of flies but grilling often, it’s always better to have less.

Sounds like you want to put it 30’-40’ from the house, because of the smell.

This deal is actually amazing.

It took a couple of days perculating in the sun on a tree limb at the back of the yard. It has 25-30 flies inside trapped waiting to die and 10 more around the opening trying to find a way in.

If you just have a few flies when your grilling out side you need to buy one of these.

Simple directions and it works!

The bugs of all kinds are thick by my trees. Flies are about normal here. I have a herd of skeeters that hang out on west side of house by my gate. I have only seen one in the house. Chiggers are bad too. When I traveled to New Braunfels and ate at a restaurant with an outside patio we would sacrifice some food to keep the flies busy. That reminds me of a fly joke. Do you know why they serve so much food at an Italian wedding?
