I'v caught thousands of those (well hundreds). I cautht a 8' bull snake at our last famly reunion. My uncle told me if I did not stop messing with snakes I'd get bit, my 16 Y/O daughter cracked up laughing and told him, "I'v seen him (me) get bitten by 5 or 6 and one bit him several times!" lol ever since I was a kid I'v been attracted to snakes.

you know whats funny? a guy down the street had one of those in his front yard today, after i read this post, i went to the gym and saw the guys out front all scared of it. i saw it and let them know that there was no reason to kill it, as it is NON venomous

Chad is right about the African death adder. Very rare here, as they are only found on the reverse slope of the Himalayas. Fortunately, it didn't bite you. However, you held the snake for an hour: you don't want to have children, do you?

just wondering, do you have to have a commercial licsense to net snakes in tx? lol, i think it's a diamonback watersnake also, totally harmless, good job!

Great shots! Good job on helping it out, snakes are cool critters and great rodent and pest control.
I'll second the diamond watersnake theory, not totally sure though.
