Vern Gosdin has to be considered as one of the best singers ever. Jim Reeves was very good as well.

Iโd have to go with Mighty Merle. Gotta put Charlie Pride, No show George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams in behind him in no particular order. These new dudes donโt sing country and western even though I like some of them and their songs.
