Agree. He was losing it before he lost it and didn't back off. He pushed it and paid the price for his ignorance. No kill switch hooked either. Could have easily been a lot worse.

I will add that reckless is an appropriate adjective as well. Once the boat's lateral rocking from the wakes started getting out of control, he didn't appear to ever let off (the throttle), nor did he appear to correct heading to give that point a wider berth. He was committed to cutting the corner as close as possible over any corrective measure that lost 10 seconds time.

He does reach to his chest with his left hand right before he gets up. Was he unclipping his kill switch? I don't know but maybe.

Why are you being an apologist for him, your sitting on an island alone on this one.

Nope, Dubee ain't alone on that island. He hit the nail square on the head. Seems everyone wants to crucify the guy. Daddy used to say that folks that live in glass houses should not throw stones. We've ALL been guilty of poor judgement at times. Lighten the hell up

HE drives like an idiot, this is how you hurt or kill someone like what happened in that FLW a few years ago

I dont know if this is possible....but this video is worse than the one where he totaled the boat!!!! Running hammer down in bad weather, co hanging on for his life....and the dude is worried about his camera and reaching down for it taking focus away from the run?! Holy [censored] man! this guy is on the path to something not good...especially if that was a few years ago.

I saw the first high resolution video, you can't tell, you only know for sure he puts the throttle in neutral. I'm inclined to think being the shock of it all he would not have unclipped that fast before stepping up to the flipping deck.

Aaron "Legit" Britt, really that's what is on the side of his boat. Didn't he get DQ'd a year or two ago and posted about how it wasn't fair?

Good assessment. Gave me anxiety watching that.

What he did was dangerous and he paid a price for it in his equipment being effed up, I am so glad no one was around that point and he didn't have a marshall. It could have been far worse. Cutting a blind corner in a river is bad enough in of itself. No one came to his rescue because the guys he were trying to pass didn't see it. The next boat was 30-45 second behind him and probably never saw it. He needs to show some accountability and humility for his mistake...

If that's what is on his boat he should be disqualified for being a clown

We have all made mistakes on the water some minor and some major. The guy is lucky to be alive. What irritates me the most is his cocky comments on social media talking about being the pro and dont tell him how to drive. Well big boy it sure sounds like someone needs to teach you.

That may be an expensive stunt too. I'm no expert but wondering if insurance is going to deny any claim made.

It was an accident, no way he should be dq'd. Why would insurance deny a claim? It was an accident. That's what insurance is for.

I'm pretty sure that insurance can deny claims based on reckless driving and/or having broken laws during the accident or that caused the accident. So he might be in some hot water here...

If they deny a claim on this then they would never pay on any accident. Every accident could be considered reckless driving. He just caught a wake wrong

I was asked about an accident I had once by our corporate insurance / safety guy what I could have done to avoid the accident? They had been preaching that most accidents are avoidable.

I told them that all accidents are avoidable and he asked what I thought and I said I could have stayed home that Saturday morning instead of getting up to go to work. slinger
