, if you have a gas leak they will damn sure get there quick but they won't turn it on after you had the problem fixed

That’s ridiculous.

What time was the reconnect called in and by who? The 10am "green tag" doesn't help if it wasn't called in. Was someone home the entire time after it was called in?

When people call in leaks, those get worked first regardless of the scheduled work. Emergencies take priority. Next would be all the scheduled work be it new construction sets or move in turn on orders. Those customers probably waited 2 days.

Truth be told Atmos has always been one of the easiest to deal with when we have done stuff, and a leak is different as that blows places up and kills people. Surely you can understand the difference.

Please don't explain that Atmos, like any other Company follow a set of guidelines, rules, and procedures. He knows he was done wrong! It does matter about the other 3-4 million customer, or the fact that maybe he misunderstood the process, he should come first.

I grew up on a farm that had a natural gas line going across it that we were allowed to have a meter. If the meter was turned off for whatever reason, they required a leak test be performed before they would turn it back on. It was a pier and beam house and the poor plumber had to crawl around under the house and test all the connections, a pain for sure. But it was probably smart. Atmos was always good about addressing issues with the pipeline and would pay crop damages without much of a question though they were usually just a few hundred dollars.

He does whine a lot like a chick. Feminine ways. He doesn't even understand how a leak takes priority over his plumbing jobs. Why would they turn the gas back on if the gas leak is not fixed?

Years ago in MS at the plant I worked at, my boss wanted me call Atmos about the gas smell coming from the meter. The guy shows up and he's visual pissed off, I think he even said he got pulled off a job site to come to us, he sprays a few of the connections and see's where they were leaking slightly. Pulled our meter and shut our gas down. We had to hold something like 35 psi on our system for 72 hours or something along those lines. Needless to say we were spraying joints in our facility for well over 2 months and had to fix really minor leaks, it was real pain in the azz. Good thing we didn't need gas for our manufacturing process. Thanks Atmos.

Sounds like it was an inconvenience for you and your company but a leak is a leak. Your company called them to report it. He might agree with you that it was a minor leak but once it was reported and discovered I doubt he had much choice other than follow proper protocol and shut it down until proper repairs are made. What other outcome would you expect?

It seems some think these folks are out to get them or cause them grief. Why would they? I'm sure they have a much better day when they are not faced with upset customers.
