They are really good, but not chicken sandwich good I agree. Had one for the first time yesterday. I liked it! Much better than any other "fish like" sandwich you get at a fast food place. Its really a nice piece of flaky white fish. And its got some kick! Its almost got as much spice as the spicy version of their chicken sammich. Its well flavored. It uses the same brioche bread bun and barrel pickles with a smear of a mild Tatar sauce type sauce. So no surprises there. Its good to even very good. BUT, is it "better than" their chicken sandwich? No.

Once again, Popeyes hits it out of the park and curb stomps Chick-FIl-A and the rest.
Batter is the perfect amount of thickness
The fish to batter ratio is 85% fish 15% batter
Batter is the perfect amount of crispiness and breadiness. Not overly crispy, not greasy, not overly bready.
Could be spicier; but Iโm sure thereโs people that say itโs too spicy.
8.5/10
