So how do you feel about school kids reciting the pledge of allegiance?
I would want my grandkids to recite a Carrie Underwood type of poem. Why not snoop dog, you racist.

Historically, the National Anthem was played at sporting events to show unity and national spirit. As soon as the National Anthem became a target to be politicized, or for that matter, commercialized by pro sports leagues that frankly don’t really deserve the association, it should have immediately been stopped because all it does now is divide us and give protestors a chance to disrespect it. Bottomline, we’re there to watch or play a game. We’re not playing or watching the game to fight a war, debate movements, or politics. In cybersecurity the best way to mitigate a risk is to not have the risk there in the first place. Same goes with sports and the National Anthem. Cuban gets it. Just play ball… As someone that played high school and college sports, I think all the leagues should have a Carrie Underwood type of song to kick things off. Let the protesters kneel during Carrie’s song - no one will notice or care… For the outdoor championship games, I'm all for having a flyover. Again, everyone's looking up and you could care less if anyone is kneeling during it. So how do you feel about school kids reciting the pledge of allegiance? If you’re asking how I raised my own kids, I sacrificed financially so they could attend private Christian school. If you’re asking a bigger question, I always try to look at all sides of the story… Because history teaches the early Christians were persecuted, killed, jailed and tortured for their refusal to pledge allegiance to the Roman Emperors, I believe the Supreme Court in WEST VIRGINIA STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION et al. v. BARNETTE et al got it right when they ruled students don’t have to say the pledge. This is one of the many points from that ruling:“Words uttered under coercion are proof of loyalty to nothing but self-interest. Love of country must spring from willing hearts and free minds, inspired by a fair administration of wise laws enacted by the people's elected representatives within the bounds of express constitutional prohibitions. These laws must, to be consistent with the First Amendment, permit the widest toleration of conflicting viewpoints consistent with a society of free men.” Also - “If there is any fixed star in our constitutional constellation, it is that no official, high or petty, can prescribe what shall be orthodox in politics, nationalism, religion, or other matters of opinion or force citizens to confess by word or act their faith therein. If there are any circumstances which permit an exception, they do not now occur to us,” said Justice Robert Jackson in his opinion. For me, while I love the USA, I hold God and religious freedom, greater than country or nationalism. That was the whole point of why our ancestors came here to begin with. Some people seem to have lost sight of that…

I would not walk across the street to watch any NBA basketball game ever. I would not get out of my chair to shake hands with any NBA basketball player ever. I would rather sit on my porch and watch horses chew on the ground than listen to anything Mark Cuban has to say.

MC seems to be ahead of the curve, now he can say he credibly tried to head off protests and now can say the NBA made him play the National Anthem. Very Machiavellian.

Not a big basketball fan myself unless the Mavs are in contention. However, Mark Cuban is no dummy and is well-liked by his players. Am sure he has a motive for his decision especially considering all the needless drama associated with it recently. If the kneelers had been ignored to start with, the entire thing would have eventually died out. He'll come out on the plus side when it is all said and done.

He was week to not stand up to his player or players who say it doesn’t represent them. I wonder how Luka and kristaps fell in that group. After typing this I realized how little I really care. We knew Cuban was week, he has proven it many times prior. NBA fits in between the WNBA and sailboat racing on my list of things to watch.

Let me start off by saying I and my family will always stand for the NA. With that said I have no issue with Mark Cuban. That’s what makes America great. As far as fan experience, mavs games have always been top of the league. I respect someone willing to lose millions of dollars for his personal beliefs. It’s what made trump great to an extent and a lot of you loved him. What I judge an individual by is his character. Cuban has always been upstanding with players, employees, and fans. How many of you have pulled someone off the street, got them sober from drugs, and saved their life? That’s what Cuban did with delonte west. He’s a great family man, even though I don’t agree with his politics I’ll judge him by his character.
Side note: I flew in from Kuwait while I’m the army in 2006 for two weeks. Cuban let me meet the players and get autographs because he found out I was a soldier. Still one of the greatest days of my life

Had The Ticket on yesterday evening driving home. Bob and Corby basically said all white guys over fifty are racist. Bob even made the comment that there are some older white guys who will only watch white people play sports.
