Yeah, the Boat Buddy. I remember it. I think Jerry Dean from Honeyhole used to do a commercial for it. My friend had one. I remember I had to latch it open first before he ran the boat on the trailer. It was hit or miss too. The bunk boards had to be good and straight. I never cared for it since the winch strap seemed easier than having to gun the boat like a madman to get it hooked.

Thanks for all the responses. I was leaning toward the drotto prior to asking, but now am ordering the ramp n clamp.

Just ordered the drotto. I picked it over the ramp n clamp because I liked the release lever when launching and being able to just tie a rope to it so when pulling the rope it will release the boat.

R83steve I put Drotto2 on my 1995 Ranger trail, Ranger 481VS and it is great no problem with anything Has been just over a month and it is a good thing for sure [Linked Image]

don't know about the drotto but the ramp n clamp has a ranger specific model. no idea what the difference is tho.
