Anybody have experience using the Drotto boat latch or any of the other brands? I've got a couple of steep ramps that are difficult to get the boat hooked up to when I'm fishing alone. I have a twenty year old Ranger bass boat to install it on and wanted anyone's wisdom in what to get if they've used these.

I just put a ramp n clamp on my 95 champion, only messed with it the day I installed it but am gonna like how easy loading is now., https://www.ramp-n-clamp.com/is not as much as the drotto but they both seem to work on the same principle. I like the pad on the bow eye instead of the roller too.

yeah i have had my drotto for 3 years at least.
Before it and with a tempest prop which wouldnt hold my boat on the trailer, I made a little wood wedge to hold it just above idle.

I have had one of the Drotto's for about three years. It works well. I get out of the boat and back the trailer in. She drives the boat up on the trailer and it latches and I pull it out of the water and further secure it. Otherwise, I would have to get in the water to latch the boat as it would slide back a foot or so when I pulled out of the water. It is easy to install. I wish I had gotten the one for deep V as it would have worked better but it was not easy to tell from the instructions which one to get.

There used to be one called the Boat Buddy I believe it was. Had one on my boat for about 12 years. Loved it, and it was on it when I sold the boat

Hop, which model did you get? sport, go to their site and read the info tho, most bass hulls use the sport, they have a ranger specific and I think another for v hulls like aluminum boats have. very well built and super easy to install https://www.ramp-n-clamp.com/Ramp-N-clamp-Sport-Model-for-any-boat-and-trailer-p/sport.htm

I have the Ramp N Clamp as well. Easy installation and my boat partner no longer gets his feet wet to hook up the boat.

Do they in all cases require the installation of an long bow loop (eye).

I bought the Drotto about a month ago or so and it is fantastic. I highly recommend it.
