Friend of mine just got a 15 ft AirBoat unfortunately has no experience with this type of boat. Ask me for help I have a lot of experience in a boat, but not like this. All I saw was a handle for left & right and a accelerator. Any Tips.. he does know how to fly a plane and helicopter so he should be able to catch on. Thanks in advance.

I have been around a couple but never drove them.
Most have car - automobile engines. Really nice if you know what you are doing, and amazing the places they can go. But looks like a good way to get hurt and tear stuff up if you dont know what you are doing... JMHO. Look to be top heavy.
I would find someone that has one, and pay them for some knowledge... again, JMHO.
Good luck with it. Should be fun!

Don't stick your head inside the caged area behind the seat when it's running.

Pretty easy just don’t make sudden or hard turns of the stick. Very slight adjustments is all it takes. Once you get the hang of it they are a blast.
Retirement best job ever.

You can Google American Airboat Corp in Orange, Texas. They build them and offer trips through the local marsh. Their phone number is 409-883-7725.....

Most important thing, they won’t turn if you’re not on the throttle. Guys tend to panic then immediately let of the gas instinctively and try to turn, ends up being a bad day. Guy that taught me always said when in doubt, power out.... Good luck!
It's only a good cast if you catch a fish... Personal Best: 11.62 lbs

There are lots of different types of airboats and they perform differently. The bottom material is an important consideration. I have been in airboats that ran perfectly on dry land while others seemed very unstable even in ideal conditions. Do be considerate of others around you. You may have hearing protection when you are driving, but others around you do not.

Great comment on being considerate to others. Those things can be totally obnoxious at the coast. Some flounder guides don't seem to think others have a right to fish there own little area without company. A flounder airboat rig can totally shut of fishing if they get within several hundred feet of you. I use to think jet skies were worse but I have changed my mind. Do unto others as you would have them do onto you. Peace.

Drive it to the middle of the lake, pull the plug, let it sink, and swim to shore.
