It was Throwback Thursday here at the FD. We do meals on Thursday we grew up eating as kids. Today was Girton's Fish Sticks, old school Kraft mac & cheese from the box with cheese powder and pork& beans.


Next Thursday we work its sloppy joes and tator tots

Red beans and rice is good too.

Leftover from Tuesday rigatoni with meatballs in a tomato/roasted garlic sauce, served with sourdough bread and a green salad.

My wife ordered mine on her way home from work. I normally get pepper jack, tomato, pickles, black olives, mayo, salt and pepper. She added banana peppers and it was outstanding. No cookie, my dessert will be a mich ultra when we get back from the gym. Thanks for asking and holla!

Haven’t had fish sticks in years and a Sloppy Joe sounds damn good. The more I think about it our moms didn’t really want to cook back in the day by what our meals were.

After thinking a little more about this post Mark, maybe it wasn’t my mom didn’t want to cook but we ate what we could afford. I was telling my wife about what I had posted and she didn’t eat like me. Her family had money. We ate fish sticks, fried bologna, fried SPAM, salmon croquets, tuna fish. And mayonnaise sandwiches. I thought a filet mignon was a hamburger patty with a strip of bacon wrapped around it on a piece of toast drizzled with gravy. That’s what I was told until I was married at the age of 22 and ordered a filet mignon out eating with my wife.

Then I learned what I had eaten growing up was really called SOS, chit on a shingle.
