Cooking collard greens and turnips -I instantly think of my Great Grandma Choate’s kitchen in Arkansas, miss her dearly.

Cinnamon rolls

Always had them for breakfast Christmas morning

Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?

Bobby: No.

Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.

Ahhh, east on I-10 thru Baton Rouge the Community Coffee roasting smells heavenly. I love the smell of fresh ground coffee too.

Peppermint, new leather, and summer sausage. My grandma owned the general store in the middle of nowhere USA when I was little. Nothing like walking into the store and seeing leather tack, gloves, Levi’s, summer sausage, and candy jars full of hard candy sticks. Also liked the CoOp gas station across the street. 25cents worth of gas in an old paper/metal oil quart sloshing as I carried back across the street to fill up my Indian 50 motorcycle. They’d give me a dollar and I’d ride all day.

Fresh turned soil while plowing a field.
The smell of your horse as you ride mixed in with the
leather of the saddle.

Leather. It reminds me when my dad beat my backside when I shot our neighbors windows out with my pellet gun.

Certain oil and grease smells remind me of my granddad’s old service station and opening a fresh bag of cat or dog food reminds me of the grain elevator we went to where I grew up.

I lived within a few blocks of the fishing piers or beaches for many years in south Florida. My favorite smell was on hot summer nights with the lightning in the sky before a thunderstorm, incoming tide, and the smell of bait in the water.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
