Over the road moving van in 18wheeler in summer of '72 with my step-dad. Drove from Tulsa to Colo Springs. Moved a family into trailer and located them to Lawrence Massachusetts. Then, loaded up Honeywell equipment and brought back to Tulsa, all in two week's time. Made enough on that trip to buy me a Penton Six Day Trials 125 when I was 12. I didn’t know you were a bike guy. Cool. Trials riding takes talent!

Dishwasher at an Italian restaurant at 16. Every time I smell spaghetti sauce it takes me back to that sweat shop.

Very, very 1st "job" was cleaning the apartment laundry on Saturdays when I was 9 years old. When I was a junior in HS, I worked as a bag clerk at a grocery store. When I got out of school, I went to work as a laborer at a drywall company. Kept moving.

Selling fresh Tyler roses at the corner of Ann Arbor and Marsalis in Oak Cliff around 1962. Made .10 off each dozen. A good day netted $3-4.

My first job at 15 was working at a TEXACO gas station. I pumped gas, worked the register, gave out Green Stamps and just about everything you could do in the maintenance bays. At 16 I worked at Safeway starting as a bagger, then checker and produce clerk, man $1.65 an hour sure did go a lot farther back then.
