They are not going to re-open this until they are 100% sure their employees are not at risk. That is retarded, go live in a bubble

Do we still have to turn off lights off when backing down? Asking for a friend. You should do that everywhere, dont be the rookie at the ramp. you should go to a high school boat launch. I just sit there and shake my head and think what would WAWI do in this situation? it's shameful. I captained for 3 years, it's a train wreck of knuckleheads. Let me tell you its a goshed darn miracle there's not been someone killed, oh wait Pickwick

Luminant will keep it private from now on Or charge even more! I wouldn't be opposed to a fee hike.. Keep some of the crowds down.

They are not going to re-open this until they are 100% sure their employees are not at risk. They are not going to open because they don't want to and more importantly they don't have to. Covid is a good excuse. Simple as that.

When was the COUNTY PARK on Monticello closed while the plant was operational? Huge difference between the two. Luminant looses money operating that park, it’s a head ache for them and they simply do not want to do it and will use every excuse to not honor their agreement to provide recreation to the county as one of the many reasons they offered to be allowed to build the plant in the first place in Somervell County. Corporate Fishing Hole.

They just don’t want the headache. At 20-25k a week I surprised they don’t open back up.

If its being used very little the rest of the year close it in the warm months. Up the d@mn entry fee for the winter months, people will pay it. I now its stupid but I would.

Always cracks me up when people say it loses money. It only loses money in the sense that all cash businesses "lose money". Have you ever seen a cash business that actually makes money on paper? At the bare minimum it has the ability to not lose money if it was operated correctly. Especially under the new operation schedule. It's easy for a mega corporation to shovel over a bunch of expenses to a part of the operation they don't want to be involved in to begin with. The fact is it could never make enough money to even register for a company like Luminant. Therefor they will look for any excuse they can not to honor their agreement. Covid is the best excuse ever. For everything.
