What could possibly have gone wrong? I mean a 19 yr old Jiffy employee making $8.50/hr, three days into his first job, wearing airpods listening to Miley Cyrus, while using an IR air hammer to put your drain plug in as fast and tight as possible!? hammer

They found the leak and said defective oil filter. Gonna drive it home and see if that’s it.

That's why I always take mine to the Dealership, a little more expensive or do it myself.

good point.

I've never seen new oil look like that after only a few miles. Does the oil on the dipstick look that black?

I worked for a Jiffy Lube in Round Rock for 3 years in the early 2000's. Some models of Fords we replace the plug washer every change, and washed the chassis off when when oil drained on frame. Sounds like they didn't remove old gasket or wrong filter. There were a few stripped threads from over tightening, some came in with stripped threads or cross threaded. I will say all the bad publicity they get they have earned especially pushing services and that comes from pressure from top management.

Its drain plug or they left the rubber off the old filter. When I was young and dumb I learned the hard way. Changed oil in my car and filter leaked all over the place. Rubber stuck from the old filter.

We live and learn.

Thanks, Billy

These are the drain plugs and I had mine fail also. Started replacing them every other oil change.

Dealerships are not any better, I had a leak after a dealership oil change. Took it back to them and after checking it, they informed me that the timing chain cover was leaking and the repair would be $2300.00. I told them no way I am spending that much to replace a gasket. I took it to a shop across town that used back in the day. He checked it and found that the filter was leaking. Turned out that it was a defective filter and it was a very visible defect. He replaced the filter and no more leak. I went back to the dealership, showed them the defective filter and he wanted to put the car on the rack and show me that timing chain cover was leaking. I told him that the filter was changed two weeks ago and I had a garage floor that has already showed me that there is no leak now. Have not been back to the dealer since.
