I typically head out for about 3-5 hours per fishing trip. On the rare occasion will I spend most of the day on the water.

What say the rest of you?

Usually on the water and at the spot I want to start as the sun comes up and home around noon give or take an hour. I live right by the water so that’s all pretty much fishing time. So 4 To 6 hours.

I’m a lousy fisherman.
But time wise, I usually put in around 8 or 9 hours. I adjust for weather so that during hot summer, I’m out predawn. The rest of the years, I’m out mid-morning and stay til sundown.

When I am staying at the lake, I usually go dawn to dusk or, in the summer until "it ain't no fun no more" In the winter I usually start afte a big ole breakfast unless its warm water. Lately its and I quote "The older I get the later the fish bite."

I like to put in 8 hours but getting out at first light isn't as appealing as it used to be.

When I go out I spend the day, 7a - 5p.. Easier to avoid the drama at the ramp... Dan

Try to fun fish with the wife on Sunday afternoons for about 4 hours. Pre-fish for the Thursday tournament generally on Tuesday from first light to at least 1-2. The tournament itself is generally 8 hours depending on the time of the year. Start earlier in the summer and end at noon, 8 AM until 3 PM in the winter and the rest follows the sunrise.

I'm slowly becoming the fisherman who sleeps in and shows up at 830 9. Maybe fish
4 or 5 hours.
