I fished it. They did not check your fish until you brought them in a bag to weigh in. While you waited for a bag, they sat in the livewell. Many people did not take proper measures to ensure fish would not die. My day 1 boater did not use ice or additives, my day 2 boater only used additives.

The dead fish penalty is only 4 oz. If it were 1 lb, I bet guys would all be using ice and additives.

One thing that makes it extremely hard is putting those fish in one live well. If you have 20+ in one live well in this heat you will spend your whole day trying to keep them alive instead of fishing. Plus, if guys are having to sit in that hot cove or on the trailer for all that time that makes it 10 times worse. Granted, it can be done and should be done but sometimes its unavoidable in the situation it sounds like was happening there. I mean, I dont know if I've ever seen Collins with a dead fish penalty but his was dead as a door nail in that picture on friday.

Because BASS needs fans to support the sport. Spectators not being able to see our sport as it happens is what keeps the anglers from making the kind of money that other sports do.

3 fish limit and 1 for co would help.. 10 fish this time of year seem like too many.

They did that on Table Rock for day one and two. Cost me a new boat! Cull clip broke pulling out a 4 pounder on day one. It flopped right off the back of the boat and back to the water. Weighed in short one fish on day one and wound up 4th on the final day....about 3 pounds out of 1st.

If the boat was on dry land when I pulled out my fish, I would have led wire to wire.

or ya just grab the fishes mouth and not the cull clip

Instead of weight go to length like the limits imposed on lakes. I have never seen a slot for how much a bass weigh’s! Or just go to MLF format.

20+? hmmm

So there were 4 people fishing in each boat?

Rayburn limit is 5 (This isn't Louisiana) and the Co's were 3 fish limit.

In this case I think this is way more of a logistics issue than a fish care issue. I talked to several guys that fished the event and the waits were just insane. Long waits combined with the long walk up the hill then sending the fish back down the hill in a mesh bag. Lots of things could have been done different. Not sure why they did not have one of the live release boats up beside the pavilion so the fish could be released when they came off stage. From start to finish BASS really seemed lost in this tournament. The weigh in live broadcast was a mess and hard to watch. Issues with Live on Saturday. Not their finest moment for sure.
