How is the fishing? Can you find fish on the brush piles or should i try finding timber? Never crappie fish this lake. Thank you for the help. Taking my Pastor out tomorrow.

I think that most people are finding them on the brush piles. Fairly deep because of the heat.

We were there today, launched at state park around 7:00am. We fished the brush piles only and caught fish on all of them. Mainly around the park area of the lake and were 20-30 fow. We used both minnows and artificial, Black & chartreuse artificial with a white Berkeley crappie bite worked best but minnows seem to get better later in the morning. Sizes were not great but still kept 22. We fished until about 11:30. I did run in to a lone crappie fisherman at the ramp and he fished timber and limited out. Good luck

Thanks all. My buddy is going to use his boat at noon, so I’ll fish Lavon near where the boat is kept.
