Jeff is a fruitcake but this is right on. DFW could be New York if it wasn't for the social distancing. We need to keep some space until more ventilators and masks etc are available for the hospitals. If we had great national leadership this production would have been happening much earlier by at least two months. USA leads the world in deaths and people think our current leaders are great?

Regarding fishing tournament: I don't think out of family partners, pre-tourney meetings or weigh-ins are real safe.

What is a safe format where we can compete? MLF might be a good model, maybe they could ditch the judge, let the anglers weigh the fish for the cameraman to record? Why don't they? I'm sure liability is the issue.

If you don't care about your own safety just consider what your actions might mean to someone else. A few folks on this forum are not doing this, bless the folks that are.

The models for death have been all wrong.. Vemtitators are doing more harm to some patients so they are not using them. Also we do NOT know how many people have had covid 19 so yes the numbers are flawed.

Imagine how many vehicular deaths would occur if we didn’t have traffic laws (traffics version of social distancing). Just take the number of vehicle deaths and divide that number by 4, then you have a 3 month sample...like COVID.

Just like COVID, you can die driving to Walmart to get groceries, or to the gas station, or going to a sporting event.

New York City- 302 square miles/ population 8.9 million

DFW- 9300 square miles/ population 7.7 million

We will never be New York.

So you’re 3 times more likely to die driving in general? Sounds like a lot of y’all should stay home even after this passes then.

1) You discredit yourself right of the bat with "DFW could be New York." Upstate New York can't even be Manhattan. Apples to oranges from population densities to transportation methods, and therefore the response should look like apples to oranges (looks like you might be from Minnesota--have you been to DFW and NYC?)

2) I'm unaware of any location in the US currently under a ventilator shortage. There were some concerns that there would be in NYC (again, a completely different animal), but this never really came to fruition. Sure, the media wrote non-stop about potential ventilator shortages in late March and early April, and yet...?

3) "USA leads the world in deaths...yada, yada, yada." Such a dumb thing to say without context. The USA is the 3rd most populated country in the world behind China (you believing their numbers?) and India (I admittedly do not know what there numbers are), of course we are going to have higher numbers!!! We also, historically, but you wouldn't know it by examining the rhetoric of the whooped men of the TFF, pride ourselves on being the freest country in the world. With freedom comes inherent risk. If it's wearing you out, move to North Korea. I hear they don't even have a case. Good luck getting in or out...

4) Noted you are concerned for the safety of anglers. Thanks.

5) Those of us "not concerned about our own safety" have not forcefully exposed ourselves to anyone else. I have been in no location where a person I was in contact with was at that location involuntarily. Certainly in these times, it takes 2 to make contact, and so if you're worried that the sky is falling, stay under the shade tree.

I just read about this today. Some of the physicians on the front lines are stating that ventilators are being overused and are 100% unnecessary or even harmful in many of the cases.

It’s not as bad in the metroplex, but in places like New York where they’re offing 10k a week contracts for nurses, it’s the sad reality of the state our insurance system is in. Gotta recoup that money some how.

I am encouraging you to stay away from anyone and everyone. For the safety of all that you may come in contact with, please obey.

You know any of his other medical history or are you just throwing him into the category of all of the other corona related deaths? And isn’t choosy!?!?! If there’s 1 thing all of the so called experts agree on it’s that you’re at a significantly higher risk of dying if you’re over 65, have diabetes, high blood pressure, copd, HIV/AIDS, etc.
