I have one of my units that is for mapping only and has a lakemaster chip in it. My unit was on saturday morning and I tried to turn it off but would not turn off. I unplugged it attempting a hard reset and plugged it back up and turned the unit on, but again would not turn off. I unplugged it saturday night and then plugged it back in sunday morning, it came on but still would not turn off. Any suggestions before I have to box it up and send it off?

Is the power button stuck? I know on some units this can happen

When you have it operating next time, turn on the Readout boxes and set one to show volts to see what the unit is getting.

The power button does not appear to be stuck, but that does'nt mean it is not. How would I know if it is, and what can I do to fix it. Thank You for your help.

Has nothing to do with a sticking power button, it's the VOLTAGE the unit is getting.

If the unit screen flashes or partially blacks out when you start the outboard, that will cause what you are seeing.

Thank You Wayne. Why would'nt one of my other 3 units be affected by low voltage, if that was the case. Now they are all on the same 31 series blue top optima. I wish I could check voltage, but I won't be at my lake house until thursday. Also no Wayne, when I start my engine to move it does not black out my screen or flash. Trying to put out as much info. in hopes that someone can help me try a fix instead of sending it off for warranty repairs. Thanks A Million

While the power for all 3 units ultimately comes from the same battery, they each have at least some unique wiring dedicated to each individual unit. If there is an issue on that final non-common to other units piece of the wiring, then that unit alone will have an issue. Example: Each unit may have an inline fuseholder. If ONE of those fuseholders is corroded, you have a continuity issue for that unit alone that won't affect other units. Check the wiring & connections starting at the problem unit, working your way backward. The units aren't "in common" until you get to a point in the wiring that serves all three of them.

Good idea, meaning maybe I could have a continuity problem which is relative to what Wayne mentioned. Like Wayne said I would know if the voltage to that one unit could be affected. Thanks Flippin-Out now what Wayne said makes sense. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it
