5wt,
I believe that both sides are fished. If you want to wade or fish off of the other shore an Oklahoma license is required.
Be sure to consult TPWD site for exact accurate details on where is Texas and where is not. Can save a ticket.

As far a fishing sucking you fly fishing guys must be missing the boat. I watched a guy fly fishing yesterday below the dam he was hooking up on almost ever cast with either a small striper, skip jack or black mullet (but I do not believe them to be black mullet because Both Oklahom and Texas have skip jack records for Texoma and the River no black mullet record they look alike to me), or sand bass. I mean the guy on fire. I will not give away his location becasue he was the only one I have seen fly fishing were he was. Just wanted to let you know do not let the flood gates scare you off.

i see a minnow bucket in that picture, is this where you keep your clousers? oh, and about the crowded conditions, i tend to fish away from the crowd because i do not go fishing because i am lonely, but a lot of people seem to. life would be a lot better if there were fewer lonely fishermen and drivers!

Yep from that picture you have missed the area the guy was killing them. Just move a little closer to the flood gates on the oklahoma side.

Is it still bad? I was thinking about headind out for a few stripers this weekend. Also want to get a gar and a carpsucker. Maybe I'll go to ray roberts in the kayak instead.

Oh has anyone gone down the red river tubing or in a kayak? Are there smallmouth in there? I saw some dead carp on the bank, I know there are plenty of suckers and I caught a longnose gar but I really want to get a smallie on the fly.

someone told me that last time I was there. I was hoping to get a smallie, striper, river carpsucker, a blue sucker, carp and a spotted gar in the same trip. Whats a good pattern for smallmouth?
