Futures are down 785 points today because of coronavirus. This crash is because manufacturing and shipping is shutting down.

The stock market is manipulated by China. They buy huge amounts of stock which gives the public this illusion of a bull market when in reality, we’re on the brink of a financial disaster. This is another reason we need to declare war on China
Of course all of this was done at the behest of the Trilateral Commission Scag do you mean declare actual real war on China ? Or just verbal nanny nanny boo bool war?

If you're a donothin I guess you would hate Trump. Yep, he taking all the handouts away from the donothins. All of you with the orange headed idol are a little touchy these days. And btw, no handouts here. Comfortably retired, no debt, significant investment that will be affected by a recession. Still, I would sacrifice the market gains for sanity. Not impressed with the dems likely to get the nomination, but certainly would prefer them over the imbecile, reality TV show star we now have. And, negative comments from those who show no intelligence don't bother me at all, just confirm what I am thinking.

It's ok do nothin, they're just a little sensitive about the market & trump.
They aren't sure why the market is so high, but everybody wants to retire in the next 6 months and they need more money.

Donothin do you seriously mean that you would or will vote for Sanders ? Or just not vote? If you will vote for his is it because you are retired already? So the Income tax at 52% on anyone making over $32 k or whatever the number is doesn't bother you since you don't have income?
I am asking seriously , I struggle to understand voting for a person who has been quoted endorsing Fidel Castro's vision , or quoted in saying that illegals are entitled to the same benefits and voter eligibility as citizens.
Do you really believe in those ideals?

Do you really believe in those ideals? He openly wishes for a recession just so it would reflect negatively on trump even though it would hurt many many fellow Americans- I don’t think a slimy man that would wish for that cares what Bernie stands for- Disgusting-

Do you really believe in those ideals? As I said, I am not impressed with any of the top Dems who are likely to be nominated. Sanders is on a run, but there is no chance that the programs he is advocating will pass congress. I doubt that the national debt run up by Sanders would be any worse than Trumps, which I find disturbing.. And, yes I am retired, but my income is a lot more than the $32k you mentioned. I do think the wealth in this country is unfairly apportioned to the very wealthy and somehow we need to find a way to equalize. Trump just made it worse with his tax cut. I, like the free enterprise system with constraints, but many of the checks on monopolism have been removed and the leverage one has as they eliminate competition is just too much for the small business. I wish we could have more meaningful discussions here, but I've given up, but thank you for your question.

mongolism ? monopoly ?
I see, I think you are just an old school democrat then. But you don't fear this super alt hard left that is being peddled to the young and disenfranchised?
We all want a Utopia but there is no viable path to it. I just think even holding your nose and voting for anything left right now is a bad thing.
Socialism has already planted roots here with Obama care, pre obamacare yes my family's insurance was high but it still worked and we went the same dr for years. Now , our insurance is even higher and unusable.
I don't fault the super rich, some is old money some is new but I can't fault Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates.......I'd do it too if I had the brains and luck.

S&P down 3% this morning. I think we have another 200 - 300 basis points to shed then I will start buying back in to equities. Maybe as soon as later this week.

The media sowing fear on the corona-virus seems to be driving the market sell off.

SPX is very close to busting through resistance at 3210. If it does, it's likely to go down significantly, next resistance is around 3000.
