Your question is simplistic. If you pay a little more in taxes but pay much less in premiums and medical costs, and your overall net income is higher, that's a plus. I'm not a fan of getting rid of private insurance, most of the developed countries have a mix of government and optional private insurance and that works well. But to simply ask "Will my taxes go up?" is such an elementary analysis. I phrase it in an elementary fashion so you have little wiggle room to avoid answering. I pay for my insurance now. I have a low deductible. Will my net output in taxes exceed what I currently pay? I suspect you are avoiding an answer because you know the truth won't sell what you are pushing. Cost comparison aside, it is really an easy choice. Why would any rationale person want to expand the power of the feds to control our lives?

Mine was easy, Already in my bank account last week. Almost $3400 back. You are pleased because you loaned the government $3400.00 interest free. Like I would earn $0.60 on it over the year. I like getting back. I use it for something I wouldn't normally buy myself. Or take a trip.

So if you would have invested it instead of loaning it to the government for free you'd have an extra 1000 bucks!

Or used it during a time when money was tight and you needed new tires, or bought a new reel, or...the list goes on and on.

I'm on the fence regarding this single payer option. We are essentially already paying for others insurance.
So now we pay for our own and others. Might as well have some of our tax dollars go to our own insurance.
I also don't understand how we can expect insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions without the single payer option. Otherwise people will wait to get insurance until they need it. I have a liberal high school classmate that is an insurance agent today and he was all for the pre-existing condition clause. However, he balked when I asked him to right me a policy and pay for the repairs on my truck that I wrecked last month.
I don't feel so bad for the 20 somethings and older that made bad decisions in their life and are paying the price now.
I do have sympathy for the kids though. No kid should be denied better healthcare because his/her parents made poor decisions early on in life. I saw we take care of all of the kids until they are through school, but after that you are on your own.

What about the national debt? Are you willing for your tax dollars to be spent for that?

I had a refund for the first time in years because of a tax credit for the kids.
Already spent it on new clothes for them.
