Stop doing dumb stuff for us to bring up 10 years later.

Problem solved.

My ex used to wake me out of a dead sleep in the middle of the night screaming about something that had happened 5 years prior. I like my sleep a lot more than I liked her.

Birthday's are the most spare accomplishment to celebrate. You are celebrating the fact that you didn't die... literally the bare minimum one has to do in life.

Be careful explaining it to the wife though. She will steer the same logic to anniversaries. If you slip and say something to the effect of "another year married to you is quite the accomplishment," then you're toast.

I know, but we can't. I have found that just when I think I am pretty smart, here comes another act of stupidness.

I would buy her a new boat...

Then again, I am divorced.

Just remember this, a good wife protects you with subtle hints...such as,”Where are we going next fri to celebrate my birthday.”

So, see, her hands are not clean in this deal.

So I did buy a new boat last summer without really telling her. That didn’t go over so well.

Updated: she is blitzed on margaritas at some choke and puke Mexican restaurant with a couple of teacher friends. Our oldest is on their way to pick her up.

My wife’s birthday was yesterday, too. She’s a hot 46. I didn’t forget, but I’m holding her present until Saturday....night.
