I don’t know the exact year model as I bought it used but this was taken around ‘71-‘72. 15 ft. Duckhawk with a 55 hp Johnson. It would run about 35 mph I’d guess and we thought we were flying after getting out of a 14’ flatbottom with a 9.8! This I found while looking for the boat pic. It’s from a bass club tournament about the same time period. The limit then was at least 12 and 15 if I remember correctly. Quite possible I don’t though at this age! That’s me on the right with the long hair.

cellphones were bricks back in the day with no camera. I don't have pics of my first boat.
It was a 16 foot Ozark Fish,n,Ski. 72 65hp Johnson. Top speed 35mph.

No pic of mine either - 1973 Ranger with a 50hp Johnson - it might hit 35mph if there was a 35mph wind blowing from behind me.

Haven't found a picture but did find the registration card for my 1964 Super Skeeter that came with a 25 HP Evinrude. My brother (a.k.a Scoundrel) and I bought it around 1979 for $600 .

1955 Dunphy wooden boat with 18hp Evinrude. I don't have a picture of my boat but found this pic online. I ran this boat on the Mississippi, windy lakes and skinny little Iowa rivers. I'd be scared to death to do that today but didn't know any better in the late 70's. We skied and fished out of this boat. (we were skinny back then).

2003 Skeeter ZX250 with a 250 HPDI and dual Power Poles. After 2 years of looking and saving I was finally able to buy my first bass boat. She came home with me at the end of December. I've added a 36v Ultrex since the pic was taken.

As fast as I’ve moved along in the boating industry, my first boat was barely 3 years ago. 1979 Ranger Aztec 1750. Over powered with a 140 OMC. I loaded up 8 of my college buddies in that boat and went skiing. Fished okay too. Paid $1000 and had a blast with it. Was the first step in learning to work on these machines.

1966 thunderbird was our first non pontoon, 95hp merc on the back. bought new by the mom unit for the dad unit. no trolling motor so it was not all that easy to bass fish from but I managed. also had use of a 14' aluminum at sixshooter dock on lake tenkiller in okieland, worked there from 12 - 16 yo. as the gopher/shuttle boat driver. good times. not ours but same boat.
