Mine was a 73 Skeeter Baron... 70 horse Johnson, we bought it from some guy in Balch Springs in 1987. My uncle and I put a Humminbird LCR 8000 (I think that’s what it was)... We learned a lot with that boat... We sunk it on Monticello in January of 88, that was no fun at all

My dad's was a 14' Terry Bass with a 20 HP Johnson that had electric start but no alternator. We put a Flasher Depth Finder and one of the NEW foot controlled Motorquide trolling motors. Stick steered boat and we were in hog heaven on Caddo Lake and Lake "O" the Pines. [Linked Image]

This isn't the actual boat, but my first was a 1974 Thunderbolt with a 50 HP Merc that I bought used in 1979. Looked about like this one.

Sears Ted Williams mode. I learned a lot about fishing and boating in that boat. It went on to save lives in hurricane Katrina and I never saw her again.

14' Alumacraft, 20 hp Mercury tiller, cant remember the name of the depth finder (round, grey one) or troller but sure they dont make them anymore. If that doesnt count, next one was a Ranger TR10, 85 hp Johnson, Johnson 12/24 troller and 2 Humminbird Super Sixties.

I sure wish I had a picture of my first boat. It was a '72 VIP stick steer w/ 50 hp Johnson. My Dad bought it brand new and passed it down to me when I graduated from high school in '80. I spent a many day fishing from it on Toledo Bend and Lake Palestine with my Dad as I was growing up.

I don’t know the exact year model as I bought it used but this was taken around ‘71-‘72. 15 ft. Duckhawk with a 55 hp Johnson. It would run about 35 mph I’d guess and we thought we were flying after getting out of a 14’ flatbottom with a 9.8!

This I found while looking for the boat pic. It’s from a bass club tournament about the same time period. The limit then was at least 12 and 15 if I remember correctly. Quite possible I don’t though at this age! grin That’s me on the right with the long hair.

No pic of mine either - 1973 Ranger with a 50hp Johnson - it might hit 35mph if there was a 35mph wind blowing from behind me.

Haven't found a picture but did find the registration card for my 1964 Super Skeeter that came with a 25 HP Evinrude.

My brother (a.k.a Scoundrel) and I bought it around 1979 for $600 .

1955 Dunphy wooden boat with 18hp Evinrude. I don't have a picture of my boat but found this pic online. I ran this boat on the Mississippi, windy lakes and skinny little Iowa rivers. I'd be scared to death to do that today but didn't know any better in the late 70's. We skied and fished out of this boat. (we were skinny back then).

2003 Skeeter ZX250 with a 250 HPDI and dual Power Poles. After 2 years of looking and saving I was finally able to buy my first bass boat. She came home with me at the end of December. I've added a 36v Ultrex since the pic was taken.

As fast as I’ve moved along in the boating industry, my first boat was barely 3 years ago. 1979 Ranger Aztec 1750. Over powered with a 140 OMC. I loaded up 8 of my college buddies in that boat and went skiing. Fished okay too. Paid $1000 and had a blast with it. Was the first step in learning to work on these machines. [Linked Image]

1966 thunderbird was our first non pontoon, 95hp merc on the back. bought new by the mom unit for the dad unit.

no trolling motor so it was not all that easy to bass fish from but I managed.

also had use of a 14' aluminum at sixshooter dock on lake tenkiller in okieland, worked there from 12 - 16 yo. as the gopher/shuttle boat driver. good times.

not ours but same boat.
