My take on the Redfising on Trading House. It's my third time down there and I got to fish with a couple of Pro's. Z71 or John and Rusty.
We got there pretty early and had a Waterburger Breakfast on the Tailgate. It seemed fitting as we were watching the Sun just barely coming up and some Bass dudes showing up and heading out.
John was getting kind of antsy, saying let's just go on and fish.
Rusty just said hang on Redfin will be here in a few.
So finaly Sasquatch shows up with Redfin shortly after.
We get on the Lake and get on plane and it's COLD. Make it over to the North side of the lake and Rusty puts me through Down Rigger Drills. I really felt stupid till I did it a few times.
Rusty is about 14 years old and I'm pushing 51.
So a trolling we go. I have alot of questions and John answers all. During the morning hours we (or Rusty and John) catch some sandbass and some Gasperoos. Who ever named the fish were mad at them for sure.

OK tired of the trash fish we went to the South side of the lake and were going along and John had told me of bringing folks down and the first time they hooked up with a big Red they thought they were hooked up to structure.
About 20 minutes later my rod goes off. I grab it out of the Rod Holder and think I've got a Lake Record. Not moving and John has some stout rods. False Alarm, just a tree. Heart still pounding we get the bait back and head back to the Honey Hole.
Get back by the Water Intake and John and Rusty each get some trash fish.
Then about 12:30 John's Rod goes off, he grabs it and tries to hand off to me and I refuse, it's his fish. 5 minutes later Rusty get's it in the net. I was deckhanding so didn't get any pics. The fish trashed the net with the DD22 and had to be cleared. This is about a 26 inch fish about 6.5 pounds.
We then thought about moving and let the fish regroup. We decided to stay. I had a couple of pull downs but no solid hookup.
Then about 1:30 John's rod goes off again, he hands off to Rusty and he just reels it in. I'm thinking another Drum but it's a bigger Red than the first one.
This fish dosen't even know it's hooked till he's in the boat and all Heck breaks loose. He's flopping around like crazy bouncing off us and the boat. Once again I'm deckhanding clearing the carnage.
We know this is the place to be so we continue to circle over the structure John know's about. We get some more teases but no more hookups.
Final thoughts of this is I'm now convinced that these fish fight harder than any other Freshwater Fish.
Thanks Redfin for putting this together, my time is coming and thanks John and Rusty for having me.
